That was my thought. You would have to remove any grounded conductor identification that was installed per 200.6(A)(6) (presumably the conductor is not white insulation).
Also you would have to comply with 690.35 which may or not be a problem depending on the system layout and conductors used. Add/change a few labels.....
Actually you could do that, but the older Sunpower modules required positive grounding to prevent increased module degradation, is my understanding. So you'd have to accept that tradeoff. I don't know any details on quantifying it.
And yes, on the old SMA inverters you selected which conductor was grounded.
