222 will not harm eyes or skin. can be used right next to you.
no ozone produced.

150 watts, unfiltered. bucketload of lumens.
i don't have a spectrum analyzer that will reach that wavelength,
but i will be testing to map out it's effective range.
manufacturer can put up to 1,200 watts thruput

what is it good for? kills all viruses, quickly. mold spores as well
as bacteria. service life of 30k hours, can be serviced, and the
quartz emitter tube re backfilled.

supposed to be effective for about 50'. stops all airborne disease.

i'll post back after some testing.....

222 is a short enough wavelength it can't penetrate the tears on your eyeball surface,
or the outer layers of dead cells on your skin. so no sunburn or eye damage.
254 will toast you.

yup. it's legitimate, as well. not the worthless chinese LED's that produce 3 watts.

made in the USA. priced to reflect that.
no ozone. they use a pulsed power supply to prevent O3 with tuning.
they have a gas blend that produces 222 native, without filtering.

it might be fun. i'm willing to give it a go.

a spectrum analyzer that will do what i want is about $7k.
that isn't warranted yet. but i need to know for real, how
many joules per sq. cm. the thing puts out, and how much
dwell time it needs to kill viruses. real world numbers, not
sales brochure stuff.

they can pump 2,500 watts out of a single fixture. the thing
they are hot for is a sanitizing light for MRI, PET scan machines.
goes inside the donut, puts out 500 watts, completely sterilized
everything in 90 seconds.
so it saves 15 minutes a patient for an approved sanitizer scrub.
per patient, per machine, per day.

where i've been getting my mad scientists scans done is so slammed
they are running 12 hours a day 7 days a week. it would allow them
to do three extra people per day, per machine. from 12 people to 15.

so, 21 people a week more. my scans, depending on the flavor, cost
from $1,500 to $32,000 each. it's worth a lot of money to save that time.

Without hard data, I wouldn't trust 'pulsed power supply to prevent O3 formation'. That concept sounds fishy to me. High energy UV causes ionization events; that is _exactly_ why you want it for sterilization. Ionization in air causes O3 and NOx formation. The levels might be low enough to be tolerable and worth the benefit, but don't trust any marketing woo for how they make the O3 not happen; have them show you real numbers.

There are a bunch of studies out there on the benefits and risk of far UV. Make them pay for articles behind pay-walls, and then read them.

Lot of places where this sort of tech would be of benefit, if it works and is safe.

Remember that once a company is selling this product, if they find data suggesting a new risk from it, they will try to bury that data and keep bringing in the cash.

they aren't that much fun anymore.

I remember the setup you posted that you used for motel rooms while traveling for certifications. Is that still in use? As I recall it took around 15 minutes?
Will that frequency be blocked by ordinary glass or plastic optics?

i've already read most of them. 222 UV has been interesting to me for the last, oh, almost four years.

USHIO is the largest legitimate manufacturer of far UVC LED's. they use a bandpass filter to take out all the
freqs above 230. along with 60% of the output. i've spoken with their VP of sales for the 222 marketing division.
they have a 150 watt chipset, not in production. it's mainly for water treatment. about $450 each,
with a $2M order to run a batch. their little 222 chipset is 12 watts, and the real output is 7.2 watts.
we aren't using enough dynamite there, butch.

as far as O3, i've got a 1~100 ppm ozone meter with a cert in my desk drawer.

the first thing that happens is this gets put in the bathroom, the door closed, and it runs all night to see what
the PPM really is.

that is the current party line for Covid-19 deactivation. that is for instantaneous kill.

what we need to do is spray the virus particles blue, and then when they fall out of

i'm still running PPE appropriate for an infectious airborne virus. i'm one of the few people i know who
hasn't had covid at this point. the systemic long term effects of it are starting to show up in my friends.

friend of mine has laughed at it, merrily. he was a key person in the execution of glastonbury festival.
he just finished up 3 days in the hospital with one collapsed lung, and pneumonia.

i'm keeping the airlock closed for another two years. but it's best we don't talk about that here.
but it'd be nice to be able to have a few friends over for dinner....

i am an admin for what is arguably the largest long covid support
group there is, with around 200K members.

most of what an admin there does is eject anti mask, and anti vax people
who join to jeer at people disabled. not trivial disabilities, either.

so, i have largely complete disregard for people who dismiss it. or ridicule
crippled people for sport.

so, why do it when you've never had covid yourself? someone has to.
