Have anybody experienced this situation:
Using swing door for working clearance in front of the power panel? Panel is 38" wide.
Thank you

Re: working clearance

The general "size" of the workspace for LV installations is described in 110.26. However, the depth must provide for the door to open at least 90 degrees (110.26(2)). So the door width may, in fact, define the depth.

Thank you Bob,

I red the code section you said but I still have a problem. Door in my room swings out and panel is only 2" wider than the door. You think that might be a problem?

Re: working clearance

I'm assuming three-phase. Volts to ground is less than 150V so all three "conditions" in Table 110.26(A)(1)indicate a 900mm clear depth. This is actually a bit less than 3 feet. It's about 35.5"

The workspace must be 38" wide(width of the panel)by 900mm deep inside the room. The room door is actually the entry to the workspace. If it had been as wide as the panel then it would have been acceptable as both entry and the workspace to as long as it could be opened fully without encroaching the workspace.
