Hello,

When you attach your #12 solid THWN to your pull string do you simply loop it tightly and snug or do you loop it and then take your side cutters and twist it? I have always twisted it on the difficult pulls but would like to save time and space by simply looping it for the difficult pulls.

Thanks,

I really like this gizmo. Saves labor hours with the quickness. Not so much with stranded but with a little tape it still works well. I also recommend having a couple assorted small kellems

Agreed. Thanks for the link, ritelec. Good history lesson.

To the OP: For light to medium pulls, I fold the wire over and tape it tightly. I've heard somewhere that the wall of the conduit keeps the wire from unfolding making twisting unnecessary.
I've had 12 open up, but then it was being used as a leader for mixture of other larger wires. I was also a lot stronger than I was smart. If the 12 opens up, most likely you're pulling to hard.
