Transient voltage surge suppressors may be installed on circuits of up to: (a) 150 v (b)300 v (c) 600 v (d) 1000v

The 1999 code book is decieving because it appears to have information on circuits of more than 1000 v

You apparently need to get yourself a copy of the 2002 NEC. All the question you have ased thus far are derived form the 2002, thats why you are having problems finding the answers. See section 285.3(1) of the 2002 NEC.

I realize I need to get a copy of the 2002 code but unfortunately I live in Africa and resources are extremely limited for me at the moment. I do however, appreciate the help you have been giving me.
