I have done a few frost king de ice cables in gutters and they work fine, but the leaf guard gutter only has a small opening at the front of the gutter. The normal install is you zig zag the roof and drop a loop into the gutter and then run straight through the gutter on the return. Has anyone done a system with leaf guard gutters? Thanks.

If nothing else, cutting a couple of notches in the edge of the guard should not be a problem in terms of its performance. Just use a suitable bushing.

If my experience with leaf-guard gutters is any indication, you can expect a buildup of mud and fine debris in the gutter within a year. The cable will be constantly wet, and depending on the species of tree, may see a fairly acidic condition. I don't know if the cable is designed with that in mind, so I just thought I'd put this out there.
