Hello
I have a question ?
When measuring an unknown DC voltage with your multimeter, you should first !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A = Set your selector switch to the highest DC voltage range and then decrease to the range that will give you the most accurate reading

B = Ground the meter

C = ground the circuit

I would say A but not sure it may be B

Is there somebody out there who would know
Thanks in advance

Re: Multimeter question

Is this homework or a test? I'm sure your instructor would be happy to give you some extra help if you are having trouble. That's what they are there for, to teach you.

Re: Multimeter question

If you are using an analog meter start with the highest reading and work down till the indicator is at center scale.

Any other type meter is junk! Now this statement about the digital meter is just my opinion.

Re: Multimeter question

You can make points with your instructor by saying, none of the above.

You should first check the meter with a known source to be sure it is working properly, for safety reasons. That was not an option so I would go with setting the meter to it's highest range.
Let us know.
