Inverters at rack or house?

Hi,

I was wondering if I could get some opinions. Is it better to place the inverters at the rack of a ground mount and have the ac run back to the house? Or is it better to have the dc run from the rack to the house, and place the inverters at the house?

All else being equal, it is best to run the dc back to the house. Typically the array operating voltage is higher than the ac grid voltage, so you have less voltage drop. Also, excessive voltage drop in an inverter ac output circuit, can result in inverter nuisance tripping. Connecting to the grounding electrode system at the house is easier if the inverter is near the main service. Etc.

Also, it provides an opportunity to install the inverter(s) indoors.

Okay that is what I thought. Except I did not think about the inverter nuisance tripping.
