Inverter Installation Location

Does anybody know if there are any restrictions in NEC 2011 code book on installing a string inverter in a laundry room ?

Not specifically, no.

Most AHJs will require working space in front of the inverter (110.26).
And it can't also be a bathroom.
And if the laundry room is frequently hot and humid it might decrease the life of the inverter (or not).

But there's no prohibition on installing in there.

If the inverter has an active cooling system, plan on changing the filters frequently. This is not so much a code issue as a reliability and maintenance problem.
