Is it ok to run emt in a class 1 div2 room with proper barrier installed?

I'm running a low voltage t-stat with emt and comp steel fittings. I have a EYS eight inches from the block wall. From the EYS direct to the barrier.

I'm having trouble finding Intrinsically safe exceptions in the code.

Thank you in advance

Intrinsically safe systems have their own Article (504). Basically the Article tells you what you must do so there aren?t too many exceptions.

See Section 504.20 for acceptable wiring methods and 504.70 for sealing requirements.

You probably should read the entire Article ? it isn?t too long and it will acquaint you with a few concepts you may find unusual. One of the most often overlooked concepts is the need for a ?control drawing? supplied by the manufacture. See the definition in Section 500.2 and the requirements for it in 504.10.
