Heat Shrink Tape

Has anyone tried heat shrink tape? I have seen it online but never in stores. It would be great for odd size cord/plug repairs & such.

Thanks for any feedback.

Used it for covering bussing in some medium voltage (2400 volt) switchgear once. Worked well.

Heat gun, no flame devices.

“Heat shrink tape” is really more like just self fusing tape. There are actual heat shrink “repair sleeves” that wrap around the cable insulation, close with a “zipper” like device, then when hit with the heat gun, a heat activated adhesive melts and fuses to the insulation and itself. Then after it sets, you cut the zipper off.
