Did you read the installation intructions to see what the manufacturer requires ?

For the typical 1/10 hp or less residential light commercial type units there shouldn't be any requirement for an individual circuit. Instructions however could call for it, I don't think it is typical for them to do that though.

One is a rough in a new house that I brought a circuit over for ( and a circ pump for hot water to kitchen sink) that I was wondering if I could put anything else on it

Also someone else called about installing a heater leaving a message and mentioned about a near by receptacle.

Ok. So unless manufacturer mentions dedicated , not dedicated it is.
