Installing new service for Horse boarding business. Thinking of installing ground ring and bonding at various places around metal building.

What are advantages-disadvantages to ground ring?

Wanting to protect livestock from any stray voltage or faults.

Will ground ring add better lightning protection?

Re: Ground Ring

Put the animals in rubber boots and don't let them eat from the ground.

See article 547 for agricultural building installations.

There is no such thing as lightning protection.

Re: Ground Ring

The "rubber boots" would help but not when a horse sticks his neck through a fence or gate to graze or drink and that metal section has stray voltage on it, he will get shocked probably in his mouth or neck.

If there is stray voltage problems on a farm the animals will just show you by simply avoiding the food or water in the area that has voltage present then you have to figure out the rest.......
