Ground Fault Testing

I came across a document in owners manual for some switchgear and it stated that the ground fault system should be tested yearly . How would one go about having that done ? Is this work from a testing company or can an electrical contractor perform these tests ?

Any testing company can do it, just need the right test equipment. Depends on what type of GFP you have but usually just need a variable current source with a timer.
