Charlie,
As long as the following conditions of 550.16(c) are met, then no, a driven electrode is not required for the metalic structure, but rather for service equipment itself.

Re: Gronding at mobile home

On a typical installation the service is remote from the trailer and I was just wondering if there should also be a ground rod at the trailer as it is not attached to the service and the primary purpose of a ground rod is for lightning??

Goog question Charlie, I think he me means, do you treat it as a another building or structure, as in 250.32
