grandfathered cabling in Plenum

I can't find any reference to this in the NEC, Mechanical or fire codes.

If there is a change in tenancy (No TIs) and a customer wants to add some Voice/Data Drops, is the existing PVC cable grandfathered in as acceptable for reuse? This is a standard office with drop ceilings that would require new wire to be plenum rated. Is there anything in any code (relevant in May/June 2002) that would require removal of existing cable?

Thank you for your comments.

THER IS NO RULE FOR OLD CABLE "GRANDFATHER" IT'S UP TO YOU IF YOU WANT TO TRY AND USE IT. TYPICLY YOU WOULD JUST PRICE IT OUT FOR ALL NEW, IF YOUR CUSTOMER WANTS TO REUSE IT, I WOULD MAKE SURE YOU DONT WARRANTY IT AT ALL AND CHARGE FOR ANY TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE OLD WIRE.
