Does the code allow fused and unfused wire in the same raceway? ie. service entrance conductors in a gutter are feeding the line side of a service disconnect then the load side goes back into the same gutter to feed something else.

Is this something you have seen? Usually the serving utility will not allow conductors installed this way since the gutter is typically sealed when it is ahead of the utility meters and you would have no access to that part of the system.

Grant, it would depend on where the cash register (meter) is located. The wires or cable from the cash register are also unprotected service entrance conductors and the electric utility loses control in that location. In other words, "It ain't none uf their bussness whut goes on thar."

With all that said, please go back and read Rodger's post. Roger answered well and said it all. :D
