Fire Pump Motor

I am designing a power supply and feeder to a fire pump motor. The feeder size is ok for voltage drop at full load current. It is a long distance to the motor and at start up of six times FLC the voltage drop will be about 11% for the proposed feeder cable size. Although this VD is only for a short period I am concerned that the motor may have difficulty in supplying the necessary torque for the fire pump. Any comments?

695.7 specifies not more than a 15% drop at start and a 5% drop when running at 115% of full load. So, you are OK there Code-wise. I'd run it by the manufacturer of the pump motor just to get their blessing.
