I have a commercial garage that is being converted from a warehouse. It has an electrical panel in it that would be above the 18" classified level. Is this allowable according to 511.7 (B) Electrical Equipment Installed Above Class I Locations? It, of course, is not listed I/II. Also, I assume the feeder that comes up to it from under slab would have to be changed to metal down 2' below grade and use threaded fittings - correct? Do they make class I/div II panels?

Yes, but you'd be floored by the price. You don't need one anyhow. Sealoffs and RMC, yes; or mechanical ventillation.

Thanks, Marc. I was planning to find out if the AHJ would allow me to negate the classification with air change, but if not, does 511.7(b) disallow panels above the area?
Thanks,
Don
