Do we need to include the MV equipment in SC calculation?

I'm in a hospital project where we have several transformers are fed through multiple 13.8kv loops, in order to calculate the KAIC at the lv transformers the supplier requests the complete details of the upstream MV equipments (mv cable length/size, RMUs, MV switchgears...etc), i advised him just to consider the power short circuit which is 500mva typical to 13.8kv, i'm confused of the need of those requirements or it is just required in order to run the computer software.
