DC power plant

I was asked about a DC power plant within a data center. Would this be the same type rack the Phone Co. uses? ie: rectifier, batteries and distribution point or is there more to it?

It is one in the same, -48 VDC. However it really depends on the size of the plant. It can be as small as a cabinet with 200-amp capacity, or as large as a room full of batteries, rectifiers, and main/supplemental distribution boards for a 16,000-amp plant.
