Cutler Hammer Neutral Lug

I have a problem with an 25 year old Cutler Hammer CH series 200 AMP Panel. We need to install a sub and the neutral lug kit we purchased that should work and will work with either of the newer ch and br series panels will not work with this one. The set screw is the wrong diameter and just slips through the neutral bar on the old pane. I have been to eleven supply houses and could not find a solution. It was suggested to use A QN1100AN (Square D Lug.) This did not work either. Someone suggested a self tapping screw to the back of the panel. I'm sure this has to be a safety issue and possibly a violation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Cutler Hammer Neutral Lug

If your problem is that your new lug won't bolt to the old SN bar, there is nothing wrong with using a different machine screw then what came with the kit to connect the new lug to the old bar.

Re: Cutler Hammer Neutral Lug

Thanks for all the help. I finally managed to get a rep from Eaton on the phone that took the time to research it. They provided me with a part number, (CH9SU2).

Now I have to see if I can get a distributor that stocks or can order the part.

Thanks Again.
