Hi, has anyone found continuity between the threads and the brass tab inside of a ceiling fan light socket? Is it because it's going through the fan motor?? I noticed two fans today like that. Thank you.

A continuity tester would read through motor windings, or even another lamp filament on the same circuit. Meaningless test if it's wired in.

Continuity/resistance test of any component requires disconnecting any possible paths leading outside of what you desire to test, if there is another socket as part of same luminaire with a good lamp installed you will read continuity through that lamp if you do not disconnect at least one lead between the two.
