Buss Duct Tap

How hard is it to tap a buss? I have an old buss duct and I need to install larger buss plug new one won't fit. Will have to tap buss and install disconnect.

Hmmm. Makes me wonder why.

Are you trying to install a plug that exceeds the ampacity of the bus?

I am not sure you can just drill the bus itself.

If your new Buss Duct "Tap" will not fit on your existing Buss Duct, its probably because the ampacity of the new "TAP" exceeds that of the Buss Duct "Plug". I have never seen or heard of "Tapping" a buss duct to install a new "PLUG". The closest thing i can think of is using a "Tap Box" at the end of the buss duct, but this is for transitioning to pipe or some other raceway.

What is the amperage of your buss duct, and what is the amperage of your new buss duct tap/disconnect?
