I think this will end up being a good thing. I've had a lot of problems with Eagle devices in the past, such as their line of decorator (rocker) switches. Specifically, I've had a situation where 6 of their 4-way switches failed to operate on one project alone. Eagle also used to manufacture their switches with plastic straps and they usually didn't sit right inside the switch boxes. But the Cooper versions have come through without any problems (at least that I've encountered so far). There's still enough competition out there though (Levitton, Pass & Seymour Legrand, Trademaster, Preferred Industries to name a few).
