What specifically is the requirement for an coutlet under the counter (seating area) of a bathroom when it already has the 36 inch from the sink rim satified by another outlet on the backsplash? Does the 12 inch from the counter top rule apply in the bathroom?

Thanks for the imput!

Re: bathroom under counter outlet

All receptacles in a bathroom must be GFCI protected. At least one needs to be within 3 ft of each basin. The only other requirement is that receptacles cannot be within a bathtub or shower space. There is no special requirment for the receptacle outlet described by you except for GFCI protection. :)

;) Sections: 210.8(A)(1), 210.52(D), and 406.8(C)

Bryan: Those aren't articles, they're sections.

For example, section 210.8 can be found in article 210. This is discussed a bit in the style manual. I was going to write this over PM to you, but it doesn't look like you have it enabled. :) Have a nice day.

I believe he is refering to the exception to section 210.52(C)(5) and wondering if it also applies to bathroom countertops.
