I have a house with (3) bedrooms with flour lights in the closets. The lights are fed from Siemens AFCI breakers and light up just fine. The problem occurs when I turn the lights OFF the breaker trips. Three rooms, three closets three breakers, they all do it. Any ideas out there??

Thx.

Possibly the collapse of the magnetic field is appearing as an arc to the sensors in the AFCI.

I think you're looking in the right direction, Bennie. AtlasJim, are these fluorescents with electronic ballasts? What are the details of the fixtures? If they're all the same model #, I'll bet the immediate fix lies with changing them out for another type or manufacturer. I'd contact the ballast tech department to report the problem and challenge them to catch up to this Brave New AFCI World.
