5 pole transfer switch is not very common used around here unless you are dealing with a oddball 2 phase system [ yeah it is around here but very rare to find it nowdays ]

unless there is a specail sisuation required that many of poles on the transfer switch you may want to check with the local code reguarding this set up

Application is for a single phase 120/240 V service that feeds miscellaneous single phase loads and a phase converter (phase adder, like a Ronk) with loads of three phase motors. The ATS is for a three phase standby generator. In my wish switch the 5 pole normal side would be the straight utility (2 poles) together with the phase converter (3 poles); emergency side would be the generator. I am trying to keep the single phase loads out of the phase converter.

Probably I'll end up using two ATS's one for the three phase and one for the single phase....
