I have a situation that I would like run by all. I have been asked to look at a feed to a built in wall oven.

The nameplate rating is 4.8kW.

Table 220.55 note 4--- I use the nameplate at 100%

4.8*1000=4800
4800/240=20amp

I would think I would bump up to #10 with 30 amp OCP

The 4.8kW is the full load rating of the oven. I doubt it will typically be loaded to this value so a 20A branch circuit would probably be sufficient.

So I take it that a 20amp circuit with #12 would more than likely be sufficient?

This is an existing installation, I am looking at a service upgrade and I will more than likely have to set some j-boxes to extend the circuits to the new panel. I was not planning on touching anything else, circuit wise.

thanks to all who have looked this over.
