The scope of work in this space i the following.

  1. HVAC- new duct work
  2. Plumbing/Sprinkler
  3. Fire alarm( by the a fire alarm contractor)
  4. Electrical – Lighting and power
  5. Demo
So the sequence of the electrical construction , in my mind is:

  1. Safe off and disconnect circuits prior to demo. THis would be just flipping breakers.
  2. Then they would begin to demo( rip down walls and ceilings). Would electrician need to be there during entire demo( they said it would be 5 days). I hope not. I assume we would want ot have some involvement as even though all the lights being demolished, we would need/want to disconnect the MC cable at the fixtures if we would want to resuse?
  3. Then after demo we would need to trace circuits to determine which circuits could be reused.
  4. Then we would rough in power and lighting(really only lights and receptacles).
  5. Then we would device and install fixtures.

The only think I’m concerned with is they have scheduled 5 weeks for all this work but our work should take half that time. If we get stuck there for the entire 5 weeks we’ll be screwed.

We have a total of 45 fixtures and 28 receptacles. Do you think it would be possible for us to do some work, leave, come back to do some more work etc.

Hope this makes sense.
