The only type of fixture I am familiar with is an"Explosion Proof" Fixture. However, the question asks "What Type of FIXTURES are permitted within spray booth?" What other types are there according to the NEC 2017 Code

Normal booth lights are not installed INSIDE the booth, or they will need a CL I Div1 listing.

Exterior mounted fixtures are listed for CL 1 Div II and listed for booth use.

Its likely that he doesn’t have a paint booth, with his listed location i would guess that he has a paint room for painting train cars, and that is why he needs fixtures to go inside the room.

The link that I gave had both types listed on the same page, outside mounted and inside mounted. 3 different inside mount types, but apparently that was not good enough. I think your correct Hal, he needs someone to do it for him.
