So what do AFCI breakers cost in your area?

I am from the school that nothing costs me, as the customer pays for it, but just wondering what the cost is, and what brand you use?

The best price I can find is $33.85 for a Cutler-Hammer "BR" series (same style as a Siemens or G.E. plug in type). Ow, and I live in Mass.

Re: What do they cost?

I don't buy things anymore since I am inspector, but I remember that about two years ago a single pole 15 or 20 was about 30 bucks...and that was at Lowe's/Home Depot.

I can't imagine paying $100 for a residential breaker, unless it is a 2Pole GFCI. Even then, $100 is a ton.

If you're paying $100 for an AFCI your getting had. :(

Re: What do they cost?

Quantity ~10 at the local supply house got me single pole Cutler BR's for about $22/each a while ago.

Orange, has GE, Siemens in the $28 range.

If you're just looking to lay in extra stock, try eBay - I've scored new Cutler BR's on eBay in the $12-15 range consistently when I wasn't pressed and could wait for the right opportunity.
