Victorian 1/8" to combustibles

So here's another Victorian chandelier question

The distance from the ceiling plane to the opening at the bottom of the medallion is 8 inches.
It was reached before with some threaded rod
New fixture is very lightweight.

I could get some 3 inch metal pipe and use that for an extension ring or I could stack up a bunch of extension rings more like a wedding cake although I know you're not allowed more than 1 ring (and I couldn't site that code section)
But in this case what's an electrician to do?

You can use more than one extension ring your just supposed to have your three inches of conductor past the opening. You can splice on some wire if you need to.
