under kit. cabinet lighting

just wondering if low voltage puck lighting under kit. cab. is the way to go and if so where is the best place to mount the trans.and is there anyother things I should be aware of. The cust.insist having these home depot lights installed.Thanks for any infor.

Look in the "search" section of this board...the guy's have posted some excellent information on this subject.... Trust me, you will find exactly what you need. :) Search for "under the cabinet lights" or "puck lights"

Here's a thought;Speak to your inspector re;puck lites.Even though they may be UL listed the problem is they can not be installed in a way that will satisfy code--you can't install the lo/vol zip cord that these fixtures come with ,in walls--if you splice w/romex [for the in the wall part of the job ]you void the UL LISTING for the product.
I have seen one puck lite installation that that was code compliant and listed--it came pre-installed in the kitchen cabnits[wall mounts no less].It was very expenssive.
Take it from a NYC Elec.Inspector.
