Aloha,
Is there a UL integrity breach or other potential problems with the following.
A new ceiling fan manufactured and UL approved having both an Up Light and a Down Light.
The A/C hook up at the ceiling is as follows from the manufacturer.
Green - Ground
Black - Hot to the Fan
Blue - Hot to Both the Up/Light and Down Light
Which is split within the Lower Switch Cup housing via a pull chain switch enabling the Up Light to be independently switched on/off.
White - Nuetral for Fan and Lower or bottom light.
Grey - Nuetral for the Up Light ( Puzzling why the up light has a seperate nuetral but true in all 4 fans so it was not a one of situation.)
Electrician wired the home for Fan; Up Light and Down light all to be independantly controlled by wall switches.
I am able to easily pull through another blue or hot line of identical gauge from the switch cup through the center shaft sheath and into the ceiling canopy along with the above wires/conductors.
There is room and loads on all four conductors 14/16 Gauge
is no more than a Total of 450W for Fan; and Both Lights if Max Capacity lamps are used.
The new switch leg added for either the up/down light is via a insulated / wire connector within the switch cup.
Is there any violation with NEC code or breaching the UL approval?
Aloha,
Alan
