Three Way Switches Amp Question for Residential

I have two three way switches on a 20 amp circuit. One switch is a 15 amp switch and the other is 20 amp switch. What is the residential code for this situation?

The load must be less than 15A. There is no code provision against using a larger switch than needed.

You almost never see a 20 amp switch used for residential. But it never hurts to check the load.

If you were to install a dimmer the odds are it would only be 600 watts ( depending on load).
