Are tamperproof receptacles required in a child care facility. Not health care. If so, please provide code article in 2002 code. Art 517 seems to refer to health care only.

Re: Tamperproof receptacles

No they are not required by the NEC.

I have done one childcare facility and tamper proof outlets where required by specification. :)

You will also find GFCIs are not required except in the bathrooms and kitchen.

The place I did had many sinks for changing diapers with outlets right next to them, these where shown as normal outlets

We used GFCIs for these along with child safety caps.
