I got a farm where the single phase 120 / 240 Volt source is 2500 ft away to a shed. My goal is to get about 2000 watts / 120 volt / useable power at the shed. I don't want to run a mega thick cable down there. My idea was to up-convert volt at the source and down-convert at the destination, and I would hire a licensed electrician to do any of the high-voltage work (I am a low voltage technician). I just try to figure out what the right way would be to accomplish this and what materials/parts I would need to purchase.
