RF transmitter interface problem

I need to send a message string between two radio frequency transmitters. A microcontroller will store the message (here I used 8051). How to write a program for it, as well as how to interface between the microcontroller and the transmitters. I am still a rookie in this field, so is there any source code or information on this? Any advice will be appreciated.
