Is power from two different breakers in one switch box in code for a residence in California?

Is power from two sources to a duplex outlet in code for a residence in California?

I don't know about California but that is compliant in the NEC. Depending on when it was installed you may need a dp breaker or 2- sp breakers with a breaker tie. We cannot offer you much more help than that since you are not an electrician

CA has no significant alterations to the NEC in regards to your question. 2019 CA Electrical Code is the current edition and it's based off of the 2017 NEC. Most of the stuff CA has added is for health care facilities, and some DSA stuff that affects schools/universities. For the rest you can count on anything in the 2017 NEC to be correct in CA until Jan 1st 2023. As Dennis stated we can't help much beyond this so I recommend contacting a local electrician or your local building department with further questions.
