Many newer 3-phase PV inverters are provisioned with bulkhead mounted MC4 connectors that allow direct interconnection of PV string wiring. The MC4s are generally located on the bottom face of the inverter chassis facing downward toward ground level. Is there any NEC section/requirement that can/should be used to callout a minimum height for these connectors above the ground plane (earth/concrete grade)? Now that there are 1500V PV strings, it seems this would be a real safety concern, as MC4 connectors are plugged/unplugged (no current) often at commercial sites.
