Have a house that was bought from an amish family, the home was "rewired" 5 years ago...not to code...probably is going to need complete rewire, but regardless the issue is that the service dropping down from the pole is located at one corner of the home and the Main load center is located 70 feet away on the opposite side of home. It looks like the people before had an SEU cable running through the basement 70' all the way to the panel location which is a No No..the problem is that this was obviously not inspected when done originally and I have to solve the issue of getting the power from the meter base to the panel 70' away. Can't run underground from meter base and can't strap SEU cable to house and punch through at panel. Does anyone know of a solution or an NEC reference for URD cable ran in conduit inside home to get the the panel location? Other opThanks!

There are two NEC issues here.
1. Service conductors (without OCP cannot run an arbitrary distance inside the house. You may have to put a fused discconnect or a main breaker at the service drop. This will make old main a aubpanel. Not a problem when you are doing a complete rewire. In the basement or in a crawl space is by code considered to be inside the building unless encased in 2 or more inches of concrete.
2. URD is not an NEC recognized wiring method unless it is dual-listed as RHW or some other NEC tyoe. It can be used by utilities under the jurisdiction of NESC,

There are different Amish sects each with different rules. Some may have power, but only from a generator.
So your best option is to install a combo meter/service disconnect and then run conduit or SE cable to the other side making that panel a feeder. panel.

You pretty much shot down the easiest solutions, underground or SE on the outside.
On EXISTING situations in this area the inspector will at times allow the existing SE to stay if protected at the meter and impractical to replace (complete sheet rock removal, etc._)
Might be worth running by your AHJ.
