Must a keyed porcelain light socket in unfinished basement be GFCI protection . 2011 code. [ what article please ]
They do have the 2020 version now. The city or county may even require it as a local requirement surpassing the minimal NEC guideline, I know in Calif the inspectors typically want an exhaust fan near a shower in a bathroom to be GFCI protected.

Keyed have pull chain switches, keyless do not.
Thanks 50 years as a Sparky and did not know this. Have been only doing comercial work last 35 years. Can remember my dad writing porcelain receptacles for these type of lamp holders back in the 1970's.
