Interpreting CSA certification records

Can someone please explain how the various Class and Div references should be interpreted on CSA certification records. For example on this certification record for various Altronic components, there are:

1. Class I, Groups A, B, C and D
2. Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D
3. Class I, Div. 2, Group D

Am I right to think that no. 1 implies classification for Div 1 and Div 2, or Div 2 only?
Presumably no. 2 implies Div 1 AND Div 2, since I would imagine that something suitable for Div 1 will also be suitable for Div 2
No. 3 is fairly clear I would imagine, Div 2 Group D only and nothing more.

And why is no temperature class mentioned?

Any explanations gratefully received. Thanks.

It should be understood that CSA Standards are not necessarily equal to US NRTL Standards and they certainly aren?t identical. This doesn?t mean they are inferior either, they just aren?t the same. This webpage lists the Standards the CSA is permitted to certify to as far as FedOSHA is concerned. http://www.osha.gov/dts/otpca/nrtl/csa.html Note none of them are CSA Standards. Where CSA has certified a product to one of these Standards either ?NRTL? or ?US? are appended to the CSA logo. See http://www.osha.gov/dts/otpca/nrtl/nrtlmrk.html for some examples.

This forum deals with the US National Electrical Code (NEC). While there are many philosophical similarities to the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), again they are not identical. I would suggest reading Section 500.8 of the NEC, especially Subsection 500.8(B) to review how to interpret US markings. I believe they are very similar to CSA/CEC requirements.
