Don't laugh, they basically did this in Spain. Some bright light figured that based on the feed-in tariff, it was profitable for them to use diesel generators to power arc lights shining on solar panels during the night.
But connecting the generators directly to the line instead of powering those lights was probably not allowed cause it wasn't "green energy".:rolleyes:

I have read some early solar contracts that were about $.32 per kWh after avoided wholesale costs, subsidies, and RECs were totaled.
without exact figuring I would say it would have been close with those numbers.
