I need a reference citation on wire voltage ratings.

I've noted some threads regarding ungrounded/high-resistance grounded systems.

I no longer have access to the ICEA standards, but the definition of voltage-rating with respect to conductors is slightly different than with general equipment and it affects the proper use of the these systems if a ground-fault is not cleared in a timely manner.

I believe the definition is effectively based on the three-phase voltage of the system, but I can't find a clear reference in either the UL or NEMA documents I have available.

Essentially, the question is: When I say I have 600 Volt rated wire, what does the 600V refer to? And from what Standard is it cited?

Thanks, that is the system and transmission/distribution equipment standard. Wire is rated differently.

I now know the standard I'm looking for: ANSI/NEMA WC 70-1999/ICEA S-95-658-1999.

If anyone has access to it please PM me. I only need a short reference.
