Grounding CATV

Can anyone tell me if the NEC mentions anything about the CATV ground wire having to be shorter than the shortest homerun? Everything I find simply states short and as straight as practical and no longer than 20'....Thanks

Yes what? 820.40 says nothing about having to be "shorter than the shortest homerun" and says nothing that you haven't already stated. So the answer to your question is no.
