Will driving a ground rod below a gasoline dispenser at a gas station/convience store cause any concerns? It will be connected to the dispenser. This is being accomplished at each dispenser.
In the past (15-20 years) driving ground rods seemed to help with reducing electronic board problems in dispensers that occured during storms with lightning. No one expects it to help during a direct hit, but lightning within a mile or two would often knock out some electronics and this was one of the solutions that seemed to help.
I believe the newer electronics are much less sensitive.
