Hello, what is the best practiced configuration for a fire alarm panel message configuration, in the sense of structuring the fire or smoke notification message in the fire alarm panel? should it start with the building then zone then detector, etc....
And should it be number and code based or better always to have it showing words for better understanding by non technical people?
Thank you.

The primary purpose of the custom message is to assist fire responders pinpoint the location of the fire. The first people you want to ask would be the fire department in concert with the owner.

Usually the message carries the type of device as a secondary field anyway and you can't change it. So you might use "EAST WING 1st FLR LOBBY WEST". Depending on the manufacturer, you'll have 31 to 40 characters to play with.
