Yesterday at the Battery Show in Novi, MI I talked with a rep for ClipperCreek charging stations. He gave me two websites that have charging station power use data. These are:
A2EV.POWERDASH.COM the Ann Arbor, MI, parking system chargers.
EGAUGE16144.EGAUG.ES the Wayne State University chargers.

These don't work on older browsers.

The Ann Arbor site seems to work better, but does not give hourly data, nor the summation of all the stations. The Wayne State site has screen control problems.

What does show up is that there is some usage of these public sources of energy.

Most of the 214,000 square feet of exhibit space was filled.

A few other stats:

There are currently (30) global manufacturers of electrical vehicles.

Approximate total electrical vehicles sales per year:

2011 - 50,000
2012 - 100,000
2013 - 150,000
2014 - 225,000
2015 - 300,000+ expected

Total number of charging stations installed:

2011 - 1,972
2012 - 6,310
2013 - 20,138
2014 - 50,000 +

60% of charging is taking place at home. The other 40% is taking place in public spaces.

In 1900, 4,192 vehicles were manufactured in the US. 28% were electrical vehicles. There were only two automobile battery manufacturers back then. Exide Batteries from the Electric Storage Battery Company and Edison's Electrical Storage Battery.
